Easter Tags

Don't you just love Michaels' dollar stamps? I found some really cute Easter ones. I made some simple little tags. A Spoon Full of Sugar's challenge was to make a non-traditional shaped card...thus my circles. Sketches by Tamara's recipe was to use flowers, buttons, and Stickles. If you look closely at the flowers without the buttons, you'll notice the Stickles. The images are heat embossed and then water colored. I used my Spellbinders to make the scalloped circles. Added some doodles around the edges.

"Quacked" Up

This duck "quacks" me up...LOL! Sorry, just had to do it...This card was a lot of fun to make. I chose bright and cheery colors because I knew I was going to make it a "Get Well" card. This paper is part of my new stash I got from the weekend! Added some machine sewing-2 different kinds of stitches.
I don't know the duck's name, but she looks like a Petunia to me. *smile* Petunia is colored with Copics and her bill and feet are glazed. I added some clouds to the sky and drew in the grass part. The quote: "Heard You're Not"..."All You're "Quacked" Up to Be! Get Well Soon!"Supplies:
  • Paper: dp-DCWV, cardstock-Stampin' Up
  • Ribbon: American Crafts (I think...)
  • Flowers: American Crafts
  • Punches: Spare Parts, Stampin' Up ticket punch
  • Coloring: Copics (If you're interested in #'s, let me know)
  • Accessories: Sewing Machine, Crystal Effects, Spare Parts-Brads
Don't forget my ribbon "candy."

A Rose for A Friend/Mojo 75/Blog Candy

I went to my favorite store over the weekend and couldn't resist some new paper and ribbon. I have absolutely NO NEED for any more paper, or ribbon for that matter of fact, but something keeps making my hand grab it and put it in the cart!! (Maybe there's some kind of professional help for that!) :)
I used Mojo Monday's sketch, but flipped it horizontally. The paper is BoBunny and the cardstock-Stampin' Up. The image is from Penny Black...I love their clear stamp sets! It was colored with Copics. My bubble border was made using a corner punch with the guard taken off.

Want some ribbon??? Just leave me a comment and I'll randomly draw a number for the winner!

Childhood Friends/Friday Sketchers

I had so much fun making this card! Sally-Ann over at Grab-A-Doodle-Do has some seriously cute digi downloads!!! I had the Lilly set already, but I thought she needed a friend. So, I went back over to see what else I could get my hands on and I found Alfie.
I cut out Lilly and pasted her right along side her friend Alfie and his dog. To color them, I used my Copic markers (see picture for specific colors). Check out his "rustic/washed-out" jeans. I got that look by using the blue with the skin color and lots of blender...it was kinda an accident. *smile* Also, Alfie's shirt was plain, so I added the "jersey" look.
To add a little pizzaz to my flowers, I embossed them with my Swiss Dots folder. It may be hard to see in the picture. The swirls underneath the flowers are made with the Sizzix die. The cute brad and little brads are from Spare Parts. Also, did some machine stitching.
This card was also made following the sketch from Friday Sketchers.
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

It's Gonna Be a Bright, BrIgHt, BRIGHT Sunshiny Day

Ha! I wasn't kidding when I mentioned BRIGHT in the title...please view at your own discretion...sunglasses recommended!!!!I finally completed my card for the Penny Black challenge (sketch). However, over at Dutch Dare, they had the challenge to use green and yellow together. Well, I love those two colors, but the only paper I could seem to come up with was this BRIGHT one! So, I went with it...

Signs of Spring

Apparently, I'm not the only one with Spring on my mind!!!!! (I'm SOOOOOOO ready! I have a serious case of the winter blues and I haven't even felt like making cards....wowzers!) Over at High Hopes and Cute Card Thursday, both have the theme of Spring for this week. While I was teaching, I knew warmer weather had arrived when my desk was lined with those "beautiful" dandelions. This Tilda reminded me of those girls who always wanted to give me a flower! I used A Spoon Full of Sugar's sketch to get me started.
While I was at it, I decided to go all out and decorate the inside too!I'd love to hear ya'lls comments!!!

Shadow of the Almighty/MOJO 74

I decided to keep it clean and simple today. First of all, I love to color!! Sometimes I'll stamp a bunch of images and just sit down and color...it relaxes me! But, keeping with the simple theme, I thought a text stamp would fit it better. I gave it a little bit of extra color by stamping a light colored flower in the background. I also flipped Mojo's sketch around to work better with my stamp.Supplies:
  • DP-K & Company, Cardstock-Stampin' Up
  • Images-Stampabilities, ScrappyCat
  • Ribbon-Brown Polyester
  • Ink-Brown, Turquoise
  • Accessories-Heat Embosser
  • Heart-Unknown

Lily

Found another cute digi download (Grab-A-Doodle-Do) and a great sketch (Taylored Expressions). I colored Lily with Copic Markers and then cut her out. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss her background and the light purple paper and then distressed it with lavendar ink. Finished it up by adding some ribbon, flowers, and buttons.

Ok...everything that could go wrong while making this card did!! I'll spare you the details, but I'm surprised it actually came about... :)
Followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers. I'm not going to say much about this card just in case "it's luck" comes to the computer...Happy Friday Ya'll!!!

Sweet As a Rose

Over at In Style Stamps, today is "Thankful Thursday." Go on over and check out their sketch for the day.

I've been digging in my stash for some things that I haven't used in awhile and found this paper. Since it was dog themed and ISS's sketch was thankfulness, I thought Penny Black's image with a rose would work great! The little bones embellishments were bought @ Big Lots for $0.80! I had this paper in mind when I purchased them...

Supplies
:

  • Stamp: Penny Black
  • Paper: Bazzill Aqua; DCWV dp: watercolor paper
  • Accessories: Cuttlebug Thank You set & swiss dots folder, ribbon-Michaels, Spellbinders scalloped circles, clear embossing powder
  • Size: 4 x 5.5"

2 Cards-4 Challenges

You'll be able to tell that I got a new paper pack...lol...
This card follows the sketch for Jacksonbelle Tuesday and Arty Girlz (flowers). I love how it turned out! This is one of my most favorite poems...I've proven it true! The image is heat embossed and water colored. I distressed the outside of the image to go along with the look of the paper. I also added some Crystal Effects to the water to give it a shimmer.

Supplies:
  • Image: Inkadinkado
  • Embellishments: Spare Parts, ribbonFX
  • Paper: Cardstock-Stampin' Up, Designed-K & Company
  • Accessories: Sizzix Swirls, Flowers, Heat Gun, Embossing Powder, Inks, Crystal Effects, Stampin' Up ticket punch
This card goes along with the SCS215 sketch and ABC Challenge. Most of the supplies are the same except I added some stitching. The image is from Stampin' Up. I'm not sure where the charm is from...it was in my stash.

Summer Sweetness (CBI18)

Cuttlebug's Challenge was to make a card using different shapes. I thought this would make cute invitations to a summer get-together. It wasn't hard to make at all...unlike the pictures of the watermelon below! I used the Cuttlebug folder Script to emboss the green.

I also found these while searching...I have no idea who created them, but aren't they an absolute work of art? Who woulda thunk?
Would love to hear from you...

The Latest Buzz

I love teddy bears! I've had this retired Stampin' Up set for awhile, but haven't used it! I thought Mojo Monday's sketch was perfect for it. I added some Stickles to the wings and some Crystal Effects to the jar to make it look shiny. The bear is layered and heat embossed/water colored. The cute butterfly brad is from Spare Parts and the ribbon is another $0.25 deal from Michaels. Paper is from My Mind's Eye.

2 "Just Because" Cards

I got a new stamp this weekend from our local scrapbook store. They carry the Magnolia stamps now and I was so excited to see all of them...trouble was limiting myself to only buying one!
This cute frog image is from Pink Petticoat. I didn't start out with this layout in mind, it just sorta happened. I love the Spring colors! It's simple, but cheery! This last card goes along with Tamara's recipe: patterned paper, 1 or more hearts (look on the frog), & ribbon.

Both images were colored with pencils. (Can you tell where my mind is with the colors I used today! LOL!)

High Hopes Challenge 17

I used the sketch over at High Hopes for this one. I don't currently have any of their stamps...they're on their way in the mail. I can't wait!!!! They are so adorable!
I love this little elephant from Craft Lounge. He comes with all kinds of accessories. I heat embossed and water colored the image. Added some crystal effects to the balloons. There are many layers to this card, as well. Also, check out that glittered dragonfly from Dress It Up embellishments. So cute!

Grow Old With Me

What better way to make a "love" card than to make a card for a wedding? This would constitute as a bargain card!! The pearls were $1.50 for 24 yards, the ribbon was $0.25 at Michaels, and the stamp in the background was out of Jo-Ann's $1 section!!!!
I heat embossed the back layer cardstock (Bazzill Aqua) and used my Birls & Swirls Cuttlebug folder for the white cardstock. My "genius" idea of adding the pearls turned into a "dumb idea" when I realized I was "growing old" with getting them on the card! LOL! I designed the quote on the computer. Following SCS214 sketch, I also was able to get in the challenge this week for Cuttlebug.
