Mojo Monday

Made a quick birthday card for a young lady at our church who's turning 16. I thought about using a cute image, but decided she probably wouldn't want anything too "childish." So, I just printed off Happy Birthday and used the sketch at Mojo Monday. Quick and easy!

I used a Saturated Canary digi image that used to be a freebie. You can purchase Ava here. These images are a blast to color, but they take a little bit of time!! Good therapy. ;) 

I used paper from Kaiser Craft. The pearls, ribbon, butterfly, bird, and some of the flowers are from Michaels. The image was colored with Copics:

I have been having so much fun coloring The Saturated Canary digis. They remind me of my daughter who always has wisps of hair flying about...not to mention being stinkin' cute! I noticed Krista had one with my name. I may have to get her next. LOL!

I decided to play along in their challenge with the Easter Dress image. As you can see, I didn't make a very Eastery ( is that a word?) card. If you look at the crossword embellishment it's highlighted 'love more'-LOVE being the theme of the challenge. There is also a small heart on one of the hat pins. The flowers come from a wide assortment. The paper is Basic Grey-Hopscotch. She was colored with Copics:

We're back at Digital Tuesday Challenge with "pink and white." I am a girl who likes my colors, so this was a bit of a stretch for me. I decided I wanted to keep it fairly simple really emphasizing the image and the meaning behind it. She looks like she has passed all her chemo, her hair has come back, and she screams, "I survived!!!!!" :) This is actually a free image from Saturated Canary.

I have a bit of a different card for you today. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and get out I did! I'm sure you all have seen the "white on white" cards popping up all over blog land. I thought I'd give it a whirl. Mine is not nearly as elegant looking as some, but I'm fairly happy with my first attempt.

Celebrate

Wanted to play along at deconstructing jen this week, so I took some "me" time this afternoon and came up with this. I enjoy stamping and coloring, but sometimes it's fun to step out of my usual style and try something different.

The flower was cut using the Cricut; the Storybook cartridge. I then embossed it with the Cuttlebug. The paper is from  Echo Park-For the Record 2.

The Paper Shelter

Hello all,

Just wanted to post a card I made this evening. I've noticed around blog land where they take an image and make it look like a painting by leaving "off" the black lines. Well, I tried that with this digi, but I'm not sure I got the same effect. I think I should have printed it just a little bit lighter. One drawback of this style is if you have bad eyes! LOL...it makes it a little more difficult to color.

The Paper Shelter is having a DT call, so I thought I'd have a go at it.  It would be awesome to be on their team as their images are sooooo cute.

I have a bright and funky card for you this week for The Rubber Buggy. I used Magnolia's Sister and Brother image. Inked it up with Copics and added some Magnolia Chandelier Garland to my other embellishments.

The paper, embellishments, and flowers all came from Micheals $1, $2, $3 aisle. I love that aisle!! They seriously have paper roses for $1!!! Run peeps! :) You can tell them I sent you, but pretty sure they don't know who I am. HA!
