Un"frog"gettable

I am on a roll today!...Another card and 2 more challenges! Guess I know tomorrow will be spent CLEANING!!!
I took 2 different images from Pink Petticoat and cut them out to put them together. Don't they just look like they're "toad"ally in love?!?! LOL! I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities scalloped square to make the card. Then I embossed the pink background with my Cuttlebug and distressed it with a rose color ink. The image background is also embossed/distressed with the Swiss Dots folder. Added some flowers where I had to cut them off from the girl and then I glazed his heart and add sparkles to his crown.
Challenges Met: Cuttlebug-Distressing, High Hopes-Hearts

I also made a new header for my personal blog today. I thought it turned out pretty festive!

2 Challenges in 1

WOW! I'm on a roll today! What else is there to do when it's snowy? I mean seriously, who wants to clean house?!?! LOL! (That's really what I should be doing since the plans are to have a scrapbook party at my house on Friday)!!!!!
This card is a 2fer1!! It follows sketch saturday and Penny Black's Saturday Challenge. My frame is from Making Memories and I'm pretty sure I've had it for years! Found it on the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby. I heat embossed the images and then water colored them. The purple brads are from Spare Parts by The Paper Studio. The "Get Well Soon" stamp is from Michael's dollar bin.

Now I really must get started on this "war zone!!!" aka-My Humble Abode. :) Happy middle of the week everyone!!!

Happy Birthday!

How's that for an original title? :)

I know, I know....this stamp is a golden oldie from Stampin' Up, but it's new to me! I love this set (Nice & Easy Notes). There are 8 different stamps and so many possibilities!
I water colored the image and then glazed the watering can. I used Sketches by Tamara-her recipe called for a die, buttons, and ribbon. I loved how this card turned out so CHEERY! Notice the "buttons" on the background? Those were made with an "oops." I used my Fiskars scalloped punch and tried to do both sides, but my paper wasn't big enough. I thought they looked like buttons, so I used it! (Not sure if I could ever make it again.) LOL!I have my die (Sizzix), ribbon (American Crafts?), and button all in the same general area.

You Fill My Life With Color/BLOG CANDY!!!!!

I just love this Penny Black stamp! He looks like he doesn't have a care in the world!!! And, on this snowy winter day, it brings hope of spring! :)
I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday. After heat embossing and water coloring the image, I added some Stickles for a little extra "oomph!" The paper is from Deja Views and it has embellishments in it as well-that's where I got the quote. My little swirly's were made with a die from Sizzix and the ribbon is from American Crafts.

My Little Cupboard

As I hop around all the different card blogs, I enjoy seeing everyone's workspace-all the neat little organization tips, fun decorating ideas, and wowing at all the stuff some people have!!!
Within the past few months, my husband and I moved from a 4 bedroom house to a much smaller 2 bedroom house! Since then we've had a wonderful blessing in the form of a beautiful girl! So, needless to say, I went from having my own scrapbook room, to nothing! However, I "NEEDED" my escape! :) I had to get rid of a lot of things, but with a lot of organizing, I still can enjoy my favorite pastime!
PAST:

PRESENT:
Every thing has it's place. The "idea" is to keep the boxes with the items you use most in a neat row on the table while you're working. That way you can put it back quickly. (Confession: It doesn't always work! Creativity isn't always neat. :-P) Then when you're finished, you can close the doors and hide the mess.

ATC Challenge

This is the very first ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I've made! It was a "challenge!" LOL! It measures 2.5"x3.5"-that's not very much room to work with. Over at Tilda and Friends, the recipe called for you to use 1 button, 2 ribbons, and 3 flowers. I wasn't sure how I was going to fit all of that on such a small space, plus my image! However, I obviously did. I layered a sheer brown ribbon with a light pink ribbon on top, added my 3 flowers, sewed on a button, and VOILA!-the finished ATC.

Isn't she adorable?

Just a Couple of Valentines

Thought these turned out pretty cute. I went rummaging in my stamps that I haven't used for awhile and found these.
I've been trying to "use what I own" instead of going out and buying a bunch of new things.

2 Challenges in 1

One of my most favorite tools is my Cuttlebug. Therefore, it seemed appropriate to do a Cuttlebug Challenge. This card took awhile to do because of sewing on buttons, cutting out some of the circles by hand, and piecing it all together. I used embossing folders Swiss Dots, Perfectly Paisley (they don't show up very well in the picture), and the 'Thank You' is also a die. I tried to stick as close to the sketch as possible. It also goes along with the Whachadoin' Wednesday Challenge.

Cupcakes & Candles

Created this card using a sketch by Taylored Expressions. She mentioned in the post to use cupcakes if you had them. Well, I didn't have a stamp with a cupcake and thought about using some other image. But, I remembered I had these cute buttons (which were kinda a pain because I had to tear the loop off the back) and racked my brain for a way to use them. I didn't really have any stamps that would go along with the theme, so...thinking...thinking...And then it dawned on me! My sister-in-law bought me a Cuttlebug birthday embossing/diecut package for Christmas! Yeppers...I think it might work! I like it!

Supplies:
  • Paper: Bazzill Cardstock, The Paper Studio-Pink Armadillo w/Glitter
  • Cuttlebug: Birthday Set
  • Embellishments: Jesse James-Cupcake Buttons
  • Other: Machine Stitching

Happy Valentine's Day!

This card was created using the sketch Created by Courtney. It was definitely different making a card without coloring an image. I used to do it all the time-before I became interested in stamps. Sure would have been a lot cheaper if I would have just stuck with that. :)This card kinda makes me think along the line of "Shabby Chic." I used two different sheer ribbons(ribbon FX)-white and a rose stitched. I added a spiral embellishment (Paper Studio) to the bow. Then 3 (Prima) flowers with 3 heart buttons made up the bottom part of the sketch. Stamped the top edge with Savoir Faire, used Bazzill and Basic Grey paper, and VOILA! My card is complete.

Be Mine

My card is a simple one, but actually qualifies for four challenges: High Hopes (Manly), Penny Black Saturday Challenge (Dotty), Bizzy Becs (Love), and Mojo Monday (Sketch).

I have to say, I think the hardest one was making it MANLY! No frills, no flowers, no girly stuff... Thus, the simplicity of it! LOL!

Supplies:
  • Paper: Bazzill Red, K & Company-Classic K Bailey
  • Stamps: Image-Penny Black, Sentiment-Stampin' Up
  • Colored With: Colored Pencils
  • Extra Tools: Heat Embosser for "Be Mine"
As a side note, this week at Hobby Lobby (probably my most favorite store):

Vintage

I went with a totally different look than what I've been doing and I LOVE this card! I'm usually a big fan of cute little characters but, I love how it looks vintage-from the lace to the antique brads to the beautiful paper!I used Mojo Monday's Challenge, but had to arrange the brads just a little different. I couldn't even begin to describe how I water colored the image. A little bit of this color here and a little bit of that color there. I just went with the flow! :)
The image is heat embossed, but it's kinda hard to tell in the picture. This is a Stampin' Up set and I'm pretty sure it's retired. Still a great one!
I also embossed the blue paper with Cuttlebug's Script folder. I distressed the entire card.
I would love to hear from those lurking around my blog... :) ;)

Scallop Cards

I just love how these cards turned out! I saw this tutorial on another person's blog, but I have no idea who it was! (You know how one click turns into another...)

Fold your paper and then line your scallop die like so. (I used Nestabilities).

When you cut it out, this way it will stay connected.

Then the fun begins...decorating them!
I love the "digi downloads." I got these from Pink Petticoat. Just print them off on good cardstock and you have some great images!!!
This also qualifies for the Double Dutch Challenge.

  • Images: Pink Petticoat
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Cardstock, Patterned Paper-Scrap Drawer (?)
  • Embellishments: Ribbon- ribbonFX, Brads-Spare Parts, Flowers-Prima, Stickles
  • Tools: Cuttlebug, Nestabilities

Riding By With A Hi!

I'd have to say this card is courtesy of my sister-in-law! :) We like to swap "goodies" and this was her stamp and paper! It's always fun using someone else's things! LOL!
This card was made for the High Hopes Challenge. If you haven't seen their stamps, they are absolutely adorable!!! I'm hoping to get some soon!
I also did this card using Sketch #38. I'm having a lot of fun using different sketches. It helps my "brain freeze start thawing."
